“Leave tonight, or live and die this way “
Tracy Chapman
From the coffeehouses of Boston to the Grammy Awards, she told a story that still resonates.
Released in 1988, her premiere album featured the song “Fast Car”. A haunting sound with a brilliantly moving lyric.
For me, she was a throwback to the folk/blues singer songwriters of the 1960’s.
I know there are contemporary artists out there who have this depth of soul; just wish there were a few more of them.
I love this post! She is such an inspiring songwriter. Very powerful
Thanks. She is very private, and has gone missing a bit lately. Her earliest may have been her best.
