Thanks so much to the lovely and talented Edwina for the nomination. I recently discovered Edwina’s very creative and interesting blog. Episode 368: 3 Day Quote Challenge: Day 3. For the first day, I’ve chosen a segment of a song from Marvin Gaye.
The song is “What’s Going On”. Released in May, 1971.
It seems appropriate in light of the tragedy in Charleston, South Carolina, which happened just about 24 hours ago, and has had me heartbroken all day. It was my home for 4 years. I have a lot more to say, but not now. For now…”only love can conquer hate.”
“Mother, mother There’s too many of you crying Brother, brother, brother There’s far too many of you dying You know we’ve got to find a way To bring some lovin’ here today.”

Thank you kindly, Robert. ❤️
I love that song and so appropriate for such a tragic day.
It just got to me, Diana. I was a mess all day. I heard this while I was out on a lengthy car ride and it seemed to fit my mood. Thanks.
That was a very touching and moving tribute at this very sad time 🙂
Thanks, Edwina. Sorry it took me so long to get to your challenge. ☺
It was worth it 🙂
Thanks. I always stall on the nominations. It seems so many I’d tag have already been involved. I suck at playing by the rules. Oh, well. It’s fun to do the challenges. ☺❤️
Well it is nice to break the rules now and again anyway! 🙂
Story of my life. ☺ Thanks again, Judy.
Great song..timely lyrics.
They spoke to me then about Vietnam…and ever since then, about so much more. That’s the making of a classic, I think. Thanks, George
Perfect quote not only for that tragic hour, Van, but for always. ‘What’s Going On?’ indeed.
I need to write a few posts about it. sigh…
In your former hometown, Van, a devastating blow. So sorry.
Amen to that.
