Is it just me, or does it seem like so many bloggers are taking a break right now ??
It might have been about summer vacations, travel, family obligations, kids out of school, etc.
Life gets in the way, and I considered it myself. Slowing down seemed to work.
I was hoping that some of my favorites would come back in September.
Many did not.
You all know a few.
I’m looking forward to their return.
Just saying.
Note: There might be some issue with WordPress. Many posts lately have not shown up in my Reader.
Definitely guilty here! Getting back into it. 🙂
Thanks, Christopher. The longer you’re away…the harder it might be. Good luck. ☺
Welcome! And thank you!
I’ve noticed a few absentees, Van, and some slow downs. It’s interesting how we come to expect a few faces and wonder/worry a bit when they disappear. On the other hand, I like it that there’s the freedom to take breaks when other duties or desires call. Hopefully they’ll be back 🙂
I do worry sometimes, Diana, and have actually gone looking for a few over the past months. All was good. Still…missing them. ☺
oh no! I’m missing!
lol. Not so much, Jim. No worries.☺
whew! I was a tad nervous there for a few.
☺
I removed my last two posts because I’m thinking of revising them and submitting them for publication in a couple of literary magazines, which makes my blog look as if it’s much longer since I last posted than was actually the case. And now I seem to be extraordinarily busy with a raft of new activities that preclude putting up a brand-new post just now. I hadn’t thought anyone would actually worry. But perhaps a brief message — Gone out, back soon” is appropriate. What do you think?
I may have missed them both, Nina, but good luck on your submissions. I’m thinking that if I were to leave for a week or more, I’d post a “Gone Fishing” kind of thing. ☺
No breaks allowed, Van. 😉 Not even with the WordPress reader. 😮 That’s a scary thought.
It happens to the best of us, Mark. I just feel bad if they’re out there writing, and my Reader is not keeping up. Could be ?? ☺
Yes, sometimes the follow gets disconnected somehow, and nothing shows up for you anymore. I’d call up the bloggers you are missing via Google and check to make sure you’re still following them.
True, and good advice, Mark. I’ve reconnected the follow by seeking them out. Interesting. ☺ The more blogs I follow, the harder it is to manage.
Your last statement is too true, and the bane of my blogging life right now, Van.
Agreed. If you figure out how to do this, please advise, Mark. ☺
It is quiet out there Van
Seems so, DK. Sometimes, the change of seasons may be an issue, loss of the summer sun motivator ?
Something Van, something.
Hope they come back
Me, too, Lynn. We’ll see. ☺
Yess
There are so many blogs that I followed when I first started a year ago that no longer post.
Hell the one blogger, that was responsible for getting me into blogging, really doesn’t post anymore.
It makes you wonder, doesn’t it, Vic ??
In my case, I guess it does make some sense.
Since my blog started out focused on mental health, a good portion of my followers suffer from many disorders. So as things in their life occur (hospitalizations, depressive or manic episodes), it can draw them away…sometimes for good.
It’s sad…that might be the time they/we could most benefit from the connections made here. ❤️
That is an excellent point!
I have seen the same. The frustrations with posting issues right now are getting to people perhaps?
Not sure what’s going on there in WP ? Why do they keep “fixing ” things that aren’t broken ?? Thanks, Doc. ☺
I think that a lot of people have caught colds! (That’s my theory, anyway!) I also read a statistic that said that a whopping number of bloggers stop after one year. 😦 Hopefully I’m wrong about that with your favorites, and it sounds like I am! XoXo
Makes me wonder if the weather is a factor, Dyane. The cold/flu season here is usually after January. There are quite a few who are busy publishing books…so yay for that excuse !! Forgiven. ❤️
I’m here, I’m here, Van! Some Klazy doctor stood in for me for one day is all.
whew…
I know my posting has returned to its usual sporadic state after a summer where I took a month long break and then posted frequently for the rest of the summer. Maybe, therefore, it’s just that people’s patterns have changed.
Very possible, Laura. Thanks. ☺
I hope they come back soon Van. I know what you mean about getting used to people posting and really missing them when they don’t post for a while. 🙂
It’s pretty normal to see breaks, I think, but not all at one time…I really took notice toward the end of summer, Judy. ☺
It is so odd. I have noticed it too with some people.
Sometimes, Judy, depressive issues come with the change of seasons. I wonder ?? ❤️ Thanks.
Well, yes. you have a point there Van.
Not only I am physically MIA, I’m mentally MIA. Out of it. Making THREE medication errors in one week! Once didn’t realize it until the next evening. Twice saw my night-time meds in my weekly pill box in the morning, at which time I took them. Total space cadet.
Personal health concerns always, always come before anything. Take care of yourself, Kitt. The blogging should be way down on your list of priorities. Hugs to you. ❤️
Thanks!
Oh boy. Pet peeve coming–warning:). When people tell me they’re taking a break, fine with that. But when they drop off face of earth and then say after coming back, so sorry for the long break, drives me nuts. Blog or don’t. But be consistent!
So many possible reasons, Kay, but I agree, it can be frustrating. Mostly, though, I enjoy so many blogs, and I miss them when they disappear. Thanks for reading and commenting. ☺
Life is in my way, but I try to keep up with my gratitude challenge and get another blog post up every now and then so I don’t loose my love of writing because of my busy life ☺️👍🏻
You’re doing great, Maria, and I love and appreciate your gratitude posts. ❤️
I have missed a lot of good folks. I thought maybe I somehow unfollowed.
That happens a lot more often than we think. My follows have been dropped by WP…I notice comments on other blogs that refer to pieces that never came up in the Reader. I don’t like to follow by e mail..it got to be overwhelming.Have a great Sunday, Linda. ❤️
You too.
❤️
WP made appmade post come up in the reader without like and sharebuttons. I think they have fixed it now, but that was time consuming to go to browser for fixing every post that missed the like and share buttons. So I didn’t post and repost as much as usual this weekend. But now I hope I’m back to normal 🙂
Thanks for all your likes and the comment, Anna. Hope it is fixed for good ! ☺
Me too. It’s not good for the blogging when wp “improve ” things 🙂
☺
