Blue Skies

Sitting outside on an unusually balmy December day,  I watched as a storm front moved into our area.

Blue skies were replaced by an assortment of threatening clouds in a matter of minutes.

It reminded me of a favorite phenomena.

When you travel by plane, and you leave a very cloudy, rainy or stormy day behind you, it is always amazing to reach a certain altitude and realize that the blue sky and sunshine was there all along.

You just had to reach the proper altitude.

It is much like life.

Hope you’re having a blue sky day, whatever is clouding your vision.

I think that is a great analogy. Just have to look past the clouds to see that it’s been sunny the whole time. I wish it were balmy here in New England. Just rainy and cold.

  2. So true! Not everyone has that capacity though…

I love watching storms move in. Has it been unseasonably warm there, too?

  4. Yep, Julie. In the 60’s for a few weeks. Yesterday, it hit a record 70 degrees. December. Crazy. ☺ But except for those white Christmas fans, we are all loving it. 🎄

Beautiful post, Van! Been loving this warm weather as well! 🙂

  6. Erika Kind says:

The sun is always shining…. even when there are clouds. It is only important that we don’t forget, because the clouds will pass.
I love that too, when the plain surfaces from the clouds. You post gave this liberating feeling!

  7. Wonderful reminder, Van. That is one of the highlights of flying and a reassuring thought for the dark days. ❤

  8. Wonderful analogy Van…

  9. Yes I have experienced that Van! Also, I have experienced sunset and rise within hours when flying from Montreal to Germany. ❤

Very eloquently expressed, Van. Really nice.

  11. This is so true, blue skies await!

  12. Oh I love when this happens on a flight! It always feels so strange to me…

  13. True and beautiful to behold. Grew up on planes. Loved the view from above the clouds.

  14. So true. It reminds me of a quote in my daughter’s Pete the Cat book – “Above the clouds, the sun is always shining.” Thanks for this!
