As we come to the end of 2015, I’ve decided to take my blog to “Award Free” status.
It makes sense for me. I have never followed the “rules of engagement” for WordPress awards.
But, I am forever proud and grateful to have been acknowledged by so many fabulous writers.
I want to honor them in this post.
Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement.
See you in the blogosphere.

Congratulations to you Van. You deserve each and every one of them 🙂
Thanks, Judy. I’m always honored to get them; I just sit on them way too long. ☺
Congratulations on the recognition. I’ve accepted a couple of awards on the basis that linking to other blogs is community building. I find those blog posts take me ages though and I fret about the many blogs I don’t link to.
Thanks, Laura. And I totally understand your thinking on this.
Congrats on your awards, Van. I totally understand where you’re coming from and have thought of going awards free at some point. I think that it’s a wonderful way to find fellow bloggers when you first start out, but not so much later on.
Thanks, Rob. It was such a nice surprise at the beginning, but I always had trouble passing it on to other bloggers; hard to decide who to include.
Van, congratulations on the well deserved awards! The award free decision is a hard one to make. The community connection will still be there with your loyal followers. Have a Happy New Year! 🎉 Chryssa
Thanks so much, Chryssa, you’ve been there from the start.💕 I’ll always appreciate your thoughtful support. Happy 2016.
Hope sweet of you to have kept all the nominations. You deserved them all 🙂
They all mattered, and I was so glad to be considered. Thanks, Diana.☺
Reblogged this on HarsH ReaLiTy and commented:
Probably a good move. Those awards take forever and although a great way to network… they aren’t necessary for those of us that actually browse the blogosphere. I stopped doing them after the first one I actually completed!!! 🙂 -OM

So appreciate the reblog, Jason. Thanks. I addressed the awards a few months ago. Felt it was time to pull the plug. ☺
I can understand that! lol
They do take some time to do. Congratulations.
Thank you, Jacqueline Obyikocha. What a wonderful name ! ☺
Thank you for the lovely compliment 🙂
Congratulations on all the awards, Van. I too am an award free blog yet I have a page on the top of Petals where I put all those who have nominated me and what the awards are. The list is very long and if you ever viewed it, you would understand why I did what I did. I just don’t have the time to these awards. ❤
I understand, for sure, Amy. Thanks. 💕
Congratulations and so nice of you Van!
Thank you, Lynn. ❤️
🙂
Congratulations on your nominations, but it’s so hard to meet requirements
Congratulations on your awards. I’m glad to see that I had the good taste to nominate you for one. 🙂
I give the awards with no expectations. I think that if all of the awards were offered with an invitation to eventually pass them on it would be easier to meet the requirements. No requirements is best.
Agreed. Thanks, Robert. ☺
I’m a terribly spariodic blogger and haven’t ever done these. Even when I blogged more consistently. I’m delighted that the people I engage with leave me one, but I started having people I did not even know or ever interact with leave them for me and Frankly, I did not deserve them – and even if I did, there was no genuine reasoning.
The times I am here and active, I most enjoy the interaction through comments with people I feel like are my community because I have come to know them through our blogging.
Totally understand your reasoning for this and reckon it’s okay either way!
I’ve saved all the nominations since I started blogging…just never quite felt comfortable with the questions and extending the nominations. Thanks for your thoughts on this one. ☺
Van, you are a class act, to have tracked all these and credited them in a post like this. And congratulations on all the nominations!
I truly appreciated them all, and vowed to address them one day. This seemed like a way to do it justice. Thanks, OB. ☺
You’re welcome, Van. : )
Van, I say I’m holding out for the awards with cash prizes. None have materialized but still.
Cash prizes…what a concept ! ☺ lol
You deserve every single one of them! 😘
Thanks so much. And Happy New Year to you. Look forward to all your good stuff in 2016. ❤️
