The sun rose today at 5:27 a.m.
I know this because there is a program on my computer called F.lux that moderates light, brightening the screen at daybreak, dimming it at sunset.
I see it happen every day. Morning is my time.
I can’t remember the last time I slept in, weekends included.
And that’s okay. I’ve always kept what might be called farmer’s hours.
Early to bed, early to rise.
It was not a conscious choice, it’s just what always worked for me.
There’s that time just before I’m fully awake when I have the very best ideas.
Some call it inspiration. A light-bulb moment. An epiphany.
I just wish these revelations would come to me in the middle of the day.
Just once in a while.
F.lux sounds like an interesting program. I share your wish for receiving inspirations throughout the day because as it stands now when I’m in the shower they come fast and furious and then later all I can hear are crickets.
I keep a pen and notepad near the bed…not too sure if that would work for you in the shower. ☺ Thanks, Steph. 💖
Hahaha, yeah I think I’d have some issues with pen and paper in the shower. I take notes on my phone when something strikes me after I fall asleep and I tried using a mini recorder when I was in the shower but it didn’t work out too well.
☺
Oh yes, that pre waking brilliance. If only I could capture that genius, the world we be so much better for it!!
I believe it, Geoff. 💘
Now I got to go to bed! LOL! Been up all night!
Sweet image. Thanks. Go to bed. ☺
Hello! Just woke up! Drinking coffee, trying to wake up!
Just be glad revelations are still coming to you..at any hour..:) I love early mornings, the quietness and the hope of a new day. My favorite time of day.
Mine too, George. It is said that when you dream, your subconscious reveals solutions that you could not reach while awake. Not sure about that…but those wake-up moments. Priceless. 💛 💙 💜
I think some of us have a built in alarm clock.. 🙂 My hubby is never up later in a morning than 6am.. I am not quite as early.. 🙂 I spent my working life getting up at that time.. 🙂 Now I can enjoy snuggling back down again..
And don’t you just love those light bulb moments.. 🙂
I think you’re right about the alarm clock. It’s all good until I try to stay up late…I don’t adjust, still get up really early. The light bulb moments…seem worth it, Sue. Thanks. 💝
Before I retired, I would wake at 3:15am to go to the gym to exercise (I belong to a 24/7 gym.) I knew if I didn’t go before work, I would make excuses not to go later during lunch and after work. Many would praise my “wonderful discipline.” I tried explaining this was NOT TRUE! If I had wonderful discipline, I would have gone during lunch or after work. I call this being honest with oneself and understanding individual limitations; a VERY DIFFERENT concept than DISCIPLINE!
Exercise works best for me in the a.m. too. I’m lucky to be able to nap any time I want…that makes all the difference, Doc. Thanks. ☺
Although I am not a morning person (neither am I a night person – just something in between…lol) I am functioning best in the first half of the day for sure. Then again I love the atmosphere in the morning when everything still is quiet and peaceful when the day is about to wake up.
I love morning for so many reasons, the quiet and calm is a huge plus.☺ It’s also when my energy peaks, Erika. No use fighting it…comes naturally now, and for a very long time. 💕
I should really change my rhythm! I often thought about it…. but lazyness still won.. lol! 💖
I love early mornings too, Van. Not only is it a creative time, but the day is soooo much longer. Getting up early slows down time 🙂
It works, but I do crash early in the evening, D. I remember parties that started at 10 pm…skipped most of those…college years were a challenge. 💖
I find I have the best ideas when I’m brushing my teeth. I have no idea. Sadly, by the time I’m done I forget them before I can put them on paper.
Hmmmm…that’s interesting. Might have to think on that one.☺ I’d be spending a lot of time over the sink.
My ideas and ah-ha moments appear as I wake up. Its a tough choice at that point though … to grab pen and paper or rush to the bathroom! I tell myself the best ideas will survive the bathroom break 😉
I get it, Val. I’ve been known to write before coffee….never a good idea, but still… 💙 💜
I love waking up early its my best thinking time.
Same here, Lynn. ❤️
Xxx
Hmm, I’ll research F.Lux for more information. I am truly a morning person, my engine revs early and its go, go, go. By the second half of the day, my epiphanies have quietened to a hum. There’s always something about your posts that gives me satisfaction Van. Thank you 🙂
Most welcome, J. Always happy for your visits. ☺
Ideas keep coming me out and f bed pretty often.
Seems like it happens to so many of us. ☺
Like needing something to write on, “right now” and you can’t find any paper to write on….
It does happen, Karen. ☺
I have f.lux too! Twinners Van!
Ha ha..could be ?? ♊
Van, I am quite the opposite. I stay up way too late and it’s Winter here and I crawl back into bed for a nap during the day with the electric blanket on and it’s bliss.
Yep. I surely appreciate those p.m. naps…no matter the season. 💘
Perhaps, we should start the Secret Nappers Society. It actually sounds quite subversive.
I had the light f.Lux for awhile. Not sure why I turned it off.
Oh, the early morning hours are just the best time of day.
Just a lovely post. Have an excellent weekend. 🐞
It’s my time of day, for sure. Thanks, and a lovely weekend to you as well. ☺
I am the same way. I get up super early but because of it by 8 pm i am sleepy. Everyone makes fun of me for being an old lady. I am really just a morning person though. I just naturally wake up early.
Our bodies seem to understand, even if our family/friends do not. ☺ Thanks, Laura
I am just not a morning person. I suppose I could be, if I could sleep mid-day. I would LOVE to be a morning person. Everything seems to much easier for you/them. 🙂
Maybe some day ????
Maybe.
revelations probably DO come to you in the middle of the day. Distractions of the urgent cause you to miss the gentle nudge of the important. Be watchful. Revelations become an epiphany when you catch them.
A very good observation. Thanks. ☺
