“Service Engine Soon”

At first, they were called “idiot lights”. They indicate trouble within the engine.

The light comes on, you access the code book, identify the issue, repair or replace parts.

The light is extinguished and you move forward.

It is simple mechanics.

There is no equivalent for the human spirit.

Too bad.

*******************************************

My idea was to take a short blog break. A few days turned into a few months.

Hope to be back soon. Thanks for your continued support.

    Hurrah!
I call the low fuel light the idiot light, and mine came on yesterday AND pinged at me!
Also, this came in my email! 😀

    • My light came on recently, 2nd time to replace a certain electric coil. It prompted this post.
Happy for your email success, Joey, thanks for checking up on me. 💕

  11. It would be nice if we had a little dashboard on the forehead, wouldn’t it? Be well, my friend. No timetable is more important than the one that involves taking care of yourself and those you love. ❤

  12. Sawsan says:

I was just wondering about you few nights ago. And hoping all was alright.
Yes, it is in the air. I haven’t turned my laptop on since end of January.

    • I’m sure it’s partly personal, definitely global and political, but the mood has changed, for sure, Sawsan. Thanks for stopping by, and for thinking of me. 💘

  19. Nurse Kelly says:

Hi long lost friend! Been thinking about you. Hope all is well, missed you. xo

    • Doing okay, Kelly. In going back, it seems so many have taken breaks, cut back or left altogether. Sad, really. It is a time when we need those positive voices, much like yours. Thanks. ❤️ 💛 💚 💙 💜

      • Nurse Kelly says:

That’s really sweet of you to say that, Van. Feel the same way about you.
And I think the changes are just the nature of things. Blogs are mixed in with everything else going on in someone’s life and are bound to go through changes just like the person. At least that’s what I’ve observed. I don’t know, it all overwhelms me sometimes, so I’ve learned to just come and go in order to coexist with it. xo

      • To coexist…a worthy goal. ❤️

      • Nurse Kelly says:

        We can try! 🙂

  20. TanGental says:

don’t talk about those little sods… they drive me to commit grievous acts of self harm with my head and the steering wheel… still as for yours, we were all still here, so no sweat, take your time, we’re not going anywhere soon

  21. Ok let’s make this a contest. Longest to go without posting starting now? lol

  31. Hope this love bombing convinced you back, but that’s the point of the post. If only it were that simple…for us. Just tie a knot and hold on, if you must.

    Love,
    D.

  32. Rowena says:

Van, I hope you are travelling okay. I haven’t had a blogging break, but I’ve taken time out from the real world for awhile to get things sorted out at home and I find it hard to split myself too many directions. I have found my stress levels skyrocketing a bit lately and having to remind myself to slow down the breathing. Destress.
    Take care!
    xx Rowena

  33. writerinsoul says:

It seems like time away, whether you set out to do it or not, helps you see how you feel about your blog. And sometimes other things just have to take priority, be they practical or more abstract, like your spirit.

  34. Love,
    D. I understand and I’ve missed you.
